Jason Perreira - Home Club (Four Seasons and Frogtown Curling Club)

How many years Jason has curled is a complicated question for him to answer…he started 10 years ago, but having been curling multiple times a week for roughly 10 out of 12 months puts his experience level closer to 15 or 20? Like most non-legacy curlers, Jason saw the sport in the Olympics and was fascinated by the sliding and the shouting and the strategy. He finally had a chance to try it shortly after FSCC opened in 2013 and fell hard. There’s more to that story, so find him at a bonspiel and ask him about the rest over a beverage.  He has many favorite moments from curling, most of which center on shared experiences with his teammates and friends, but the most poignant personal moment in recent memory is contributing to his team winning a bonspiel in Canada in 2022 (the B-Division of the inaugural Pan Continental Curling Championship). He states it was super fulfilling to see a lot of individual hard work pay off when it mattered.

He was interested to volunteer to be a part of the TCCA because there’s a ton of opportunity to help other curlers enjoy this wonderful sport and states that he would like to give back to the game and the community that have given him so much personal joy and fulfillment. Jason’s hope is that the TCCA builds on the fantastic foundation that was created over the past couple years to keep the sport thriving in the Twin Cities, that we provide the tools and resources for each curler to maximize their potential and enjoy the sport, and that we enable activities that focus on diversity and inclusivity. He also enjoys golf but says he is not a golf professional.
