Caree Kovacevich - Home Club(Dakota)

Caree has curled for 3 years - started under ‘Covid Rules’ in 2020.   She started curling for 3 reasons: the men's team winning the gold medal in the Olympics first piqued her interest (and she’s since held that gold medal!), she decided if she could do any Olympic sport, curling would be it, and the fact that men & women compete on a level playing field.  Her family moved to Lakeville in 2020, which was 5 minutes from Dakota CC, so she thought, Now's Her Chance! A Learn to Curl and an Instructional League, and the rest is history.

She volunteers teaching Learn to Curls at her home club, but also has a paid gig teaching at a country club.  She also volunteers as an Ice Tech at Dakota, and served as a Timer at Junior Nationals. The reason she volunteered to be on the TCCA Board as the Secretary was because she want to be involved in all things curling, and get to know the entire curling community in the Twin Cities, where she says won’t find a better group of people.   Her goals for the TCCA going forward are to have a better cohesiveness and sense of community between all the Twin cities clubs

Her favorite Personal Moment in curling was her team winning the very first bonspiel they played in.
