Robert “Bob” Daun - Home Club (Frogtown CC, but also known to curl out of Dakota CC)

Bob was always intrigued by the sport of curling watched it on television whenever able, and when his friend Ben Kirkwold became a member of the Four Seasons Curling Club in its inaugural season and asked him to sub in games, Bob jumped at the opportunity. His first rocks thrown were in game play, not having time to throw a practice shot or attend a learn to curl, and his second stone was in play even! Over the course of subbing regularly in that first league season, he began playing on multiple leagues every season for his first few years, subbing nearly 4-5 nights per week to gain experience and learn from more advanced players.

Bob was the Bonspiel Advisor for Four Seasons Curling club for multiple years, and during the pandemic made the decision to move his regular membership to two clubs closer to home for him, making Frogtown his home club and occasional appearances on Dakota Curling Club leagues as well.

Like Darwin, Bob was first introduced to the TCCA through other friends in leadership positions as well as being invited to the 2019 Twin Cities Curling Association Invitational when he officially took on the role of the vacant Four Seasons Curling Club representative position. He served in this role under president Joel Ingersoll, and officially stepped into the presidency in January 2022 immediately following the Big Spiel of that year. With his experience organizing teams and demonstrating progressive leadership, his intention has been to bring many aspects of the TCCA that had lagged behind prior to - and during the pandemic up to speed to address current and future roles/needs that the organization could fulfill. He intends to retire happily to private life after over-volunteering for many years by passing the torch on to his successor following The Big Spiel 2024.
